An epic 10-day motorcycle adventure from Kathmandu through the Kyirong border into Tibet, riding to Everest Base Camp, Shigatse, and Lhasa. Ride through some of the world's most dramatic mountain landscapes on paved Tibetan roads. Suitable for experienced riders seeking the ultimate Himalayan adventure.
Depart Kathmandu after breakfast. Ride to Rasuwagadhi-Kerung friendship bridge. Clear customs and immigration. Ride 24km to Kyirong town.
Breakfast in Kyirong. Ride via Peikucuo Lake with views of Mt. Shishapangma (8,027m). From Old Tingri, clear views of Mt. Everest and Cho Oyu.
Ride to Everest Base Camp (5,200m). Pass 5 peaks over 8,000m. Visit Rongbuk Monastery — highest monastery in the world.
Watch the Everest sunrise. Ride back via Geula Pass through farming villages. Arrive Shigatse — Tibet's 2nd largest city.
Visit Tashi Lhunpo Monastery. Ride to Gyantse — visit Pelchoe Monastery. Continue via Yamdrok Lake and Karo La Glacier to Lhasa.
Potala Palace — Tibet's most iconic building. Jokhang Temple — holiest in Tibet. Barkhor Street pilgrim circuit and market.
Ride back to Shigatse along scenic Yarlung Tsangpo River (Brahmaputra). Stunning river valley views.
Ride back west crossing two mountain passes above 5,000m. Dramatic high altitude riding.
Final ride on Tibetan roads back to Kyirong. Last night in Tibet.
