Arrive in Lhasa. Guide meets at airport/station. Transfer to hotel. Rest for altitude acclimatization. Drink extra water, avoid alcohol.
Morning: Potala Palace — center of Lhasa since 7th century. Afternoon: Sera Monastery (founded 1419). Watch monk debates. Optional pilgrimage hike.
Drepung Monastery (founded 1416) with original 15th century buildings. Jokhang Temple (7th century) — circumambulate with pilgrims at Barkhor.
2-hour drive to Tsurphu Monastery (4,500m). Visit this important Kagyu monastery. Acclimatize and camp near monastery.
Trek through nomad areas. Nomads live in black yak wool tents. Drink yak butter tea and experience authentic nomadic culture.
Cross Damchen Nyingtri pass. Descend into magical valley of lichen-coated boulders and streams. Cross Lasar La. Arrive at Bartso nomad village.
Trek over ridge with views of Nyenchen Tanghlha (7,162m). Arrive at Dorje Ling Nunnery. Picked up by vehicle. Drive to Damshung via Yangpachen Monastery.
Morning: Drive to Namtso Lake — world's highest saltwater lake (4,718m). Cross Lagyen La pass (5,190m). Afternoon: Continue to Shigatse.
Drive to EBC via Gyatso La Pass (5,248m) with sweeping Himalayan views. Geu La pass panoramic views — see 5 of world's 15 highest peaks. Arrive Rongbuk.
Sunrise at Everest. Drive back to Shigatse stopping at Rongphu Monastery and Geu La for final Everest views. Visit Tashi Lhunpo Monastery & flea market.
Explore Tashi Lhunpo Monastery. Drive to Lhasa via Yamdrok Lake and Karo La Glacier. Walk Barkhor Market.
